GameApart was built as a result of our boredom and lack of things to talk about on our virtual hangouts during this COVID-19 social distancing nightmare, but as we took it to the world we realized it can be used in more ways than we originally envisioned.
Here are 9 ways to use GameApart:
- Bring Your People Together During Pandemics
Ok, so this was its original purpose and, hopefully, we’ll be able to take off this list at some point soon. Until then, fire up your virtual hang out software, grab an adult beverage (if you’re into that), and play games together to forget about the state of the world for a bit. Pandemics, amirite? - Play Together at Home, But Socially Distanced
As you start making your way back out into the world, play games together from opposite ends of the living room. Fire up the GameApart tabletop on your laptop and cast it to the TV for everyone to see, and play your turn via your own smartphone to avoid having to lean across each other to play a card, keeping yourself safe from any infected spittle! (This is also great in non-Pandemics to reduce your chances of catching someone’s cold.) - Regular Ol’ Game Night — Gone Digital!
Hey, the gang’s back together! You can still use GameApart to play games— thus eliminating the need for buying and storing physical board games, having less to clean up at the end of the night, andpeople can still join even if they can’t make it in person. Other major advantages to going digital include it being better for the environment, over-the-air content updates (so current events actually stay current!), and the computer (or really, “the cloud”) ensures everything still runs smoothly even as your friends get drunk! - Play with Your Remote Teams
While working from home is great in many ways, it can make it harder to bond with your colleagues. Fight Zoom fatigue and everyone’s dread of online meetings by surprising them with a fun game session instead. Since GameApart works over any video conference software that allows you to share your screen, it’s easy to play with your team and be the person who brings the fun. - Something to Do at the Bar
Why just drink when you could drink AND play a game? GameApart is a super easy and inexpensive way for bars to offer games—they can cast the tabletop to any TV, set up a game with many rounds, and patrons can join and leave the games as they wish. Perfect icebreaker to bring strangers together…and keep them drinking longer! - Play While You’re Traveling
One of our least favorite things is knowing that our friends are having fun without us. (Ah FOMO, you are real, and you are awful.) Whether you’re on a business trip or back in your hometown visiting Grandma, you’ll never have to miss game night again! - Defeat Winter’s Plot to Ruin Your Social Life
Driving at night during winter sucks; it’s cold, it’s icy, and it’s just so dark! Stay home and stay safe by organizing a virtual game night and make Seasonal Affective Disorder a thing of the past. - Have a Game Night After the Kids Go to Bed
Remember before you had kids and you could do what you wanted, when you wanted? Well, you still can, just as long as what you want involves staying home, and the when happens after they go to sleep. Get your other parent friends together on Zoom and you can have adult drinks and play games together, just like you used to! - Be Social, Without the Awkward In-Person Stuff
We know a lot of social introverts—there may even be one or several on the GameApart team—and the fact is that sometimes we crave social interaction, but prefer a small group and not leaving the house or having to see anyone in person. GameApart makes game night safe for introverts!
